Jared comes from a long line of Texians. The “original” Jared Groce came to Texas in 1819, and was known as the man who introduced cotton to Texas. Jared was raised in Cooke County and was in the retail furniture business for 20 years in Cooke, Denton, and Wise Counties. He also spent 10 years as a Firefighter / EMT in North Texas. Jared’s knowledge of the area and it’s people is a valuable asset to his clients. Jared’s obsession with hunting and fishing have taken him all over North America, but his favorite place to hunt and fish are right here in Texas, where he pursues predators, deer, upland game, and waterfowl. He is also very involved in dozens of conservation organizations and was a Texas Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education Instructor for 23 years. He is also the past president of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Era I.S.D. School Board. Jared and his wife Leah live on a ranch near Era in southwestern Cooke County where the family is very active in the Era Methodist Church and in the community in general. Jared’s clients speak very highly of him, and are always glad to give him as a reference to others. As an outdoorsman, businessman, and rancher, he understands not only the ins and outs of real estate transactions, but also the details of property ownership and stewardship.
